Our Company Mission

Founded by Donna Merten in 2006, Merten is a Design-Build firm that specializes in unique, high performance living environments. With a focus on resource conservation, energy-efficiency and innovative design, our projects balance the beauty of artistic expression with the science of verifiable performance.

Merten possesses experience in both production building and custom building, which directly translates into a firm understanding of both the logistics and economics of successfully completing projects on schedule and on budget, regardless of complexity or scale. Our projects range in size and scope from remodels…to straw bale guest cottages…to hybrids…to custom homes and Green developments.
